Once we've determined if your idea/invention is new, an improvement, or already has a patent, the next step is to perform research regarding your idea, concept, or invention. Before approaching companies and/or seeking legal protection for your idea, we consider it highly important to research both the commercial and legal viability of your new idea.
COMMERCIAL RESEARCH
What does the available statistical data say about the viability and marketability of your concept? For example:
- What is the size of the market for your product?
- Is the market growing or shrinking?
- How many potential manufacturers of your product are there?
- How much would it cost to manufacture your product?
- What would be a typical selling price?
LEGAL RESEARCH
If your idea or invention does not yet have legal protection of some sort, we will refer you to a registered patent attorney, who will represent you and perform a patent or trademark search on your behalf.
The results of all of this research will be assembled and presented to you in an organized and comprehensive manner as a “Concept Data Report” that combines results from both the commercial and legal research, and provides an overview of what bringing your invention to market might involve. It is at this point that you will begin to feel your invention "come to life" in the pages of the report.
